By definition, claim payers are presented with subrogation cases, whether through the claim process or because they are a resource for claim records. We recognize that fact, and charge significantly less for our services with client-identified cases. But we provide invaluable backup at the same time with our “second pass” electronic claim data review for clients who elect this model.
Many TPA’s pend / deny claim payment until the member returns an accident questionnaire. If so, they have built into their claim process a way of identifying potential subrogation cases – or at least many potential subrogation cases. Missed opportunities can result when members do not receive an AQ in the first place, or if the member is not truthful, or if they simply change their mind down the road.
